The trade unions at transport company De Lijn will take action on Monday and Tuesday at the stations of Bruges and Kortrijk, “to raise awareness among travelers about the increasing aggression towards drivers, servants and inspectors at De Lijn”. They say this in a joint communication on Sunday evening.

According to the trade unions, the reason is a case of aggression last week on a bus in Bruges, where a man had attacked the driver. That is why they want to sensitize travelers. In Bruges this happens on Monday around 12 noon at the station, in Kortrijk on Tuesday from 7.30 am at the station.

“There is currently no more than asking for understanding,” the unions say. “We are stepping up the dialogue with the management and hope that changes to the safety plan at De Lijn, which dates from 2006, will soon be made. The society of today is no longer that of yesterday.”
