The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has started testing a new beta version for the e-Título application, which gives access to a digital copy of the voter registration card and other services.
For now, only 0.1% of the 25 million e-Título users will be chosen randomly to test the beta version. The TSE, however, reported that it intends to validate and make the new version available to the entire electorate before voting day, scheduled for October 2.
In the 2020 municipal elections, the e-Título application showed instability due to the high use of the tool in the first round of voting. For this year, the TSE promises “the reduction of the impact on services in periods of high demand by voters”, among other advances.
The app with versions for iOS and Android has also advanced in terms of accessibility, adopting colors and adaptations that facilitate viewing by people with some visual impairments, such as color blindness, for example.
Improvements were also implemented in the biometrics conference, which to increase security will now use dual biometrics, with easy and fingerprint recognition, according to the TSE. There is also a new notification center.
The TSE did not say when the beta version should be made available to a wider audience, stating only that “the intention is that it will be made available to the entire electorate until this year’s election, in October”.
