Twelve dead and injured in Karachi attack

A bomb attack in the Pakistani city of Karachi left one dead and 12 injured on Thursday. That was reported by the police.

The blast happened late Thursday night in the Saddar district. “According to initial findings in the investigation, the bomb was placed in a motorcycle,” said a Karachi police spokesman. It is not immediately clear what the target of the attack was.

Several vehicles were damaged, including one from the Coast Guard. The fatal victim was a passer-by.

Two weeks ago, another suicide attack took place in Karachi that cost four lives. Three of the victims were Chinese: the attack targeted a van belonging to the staff of a Beijing cultural program at Karachi University. The attack was claimed by a separatist movement from Baluchistan.
