Ukrainian army says Russian forces failed advance attempts in Kharkiv and Donetsk

Russian forces have made “unsuccessful” attempts to advance in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, the Ukrainian army said on Thursday.

According to a post on the social network Facebook on the official page of the Ukrainian General Staff, the Russians also continue to launch missile attacks on transport infrastructure.

Moscow’s objective is to prevent the movement of humanitarian cargo and military technical assistance, accuses Kiev.

On the other hand, Moscow said its air force had destroyed 45 Ukrainian military installations in the latest series of attacks.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stressed that the targets hit this Thursday by the Russian Air Force include Ukrainian troops and concentrations of weapons and an ammunition depot in the eastern region of Lugansk.

Konashenkov’s statements could not be independently confirmed, reports the Associated Press (AP).
