During the 1st Funsat (Fundação Social do Trabalho) Opportunities Fair, unemployed people went in search of opportunities to get a formal job. Most vacancies are temporary, for the end of the year, but there is a forecast that part of those selected will be effective for next year.

According to CEO Paulo da Silva, the end of the year period usually moves the labor market with temporary hiring for trade. However, he says that demand should remain heated in Campo Grande and even be expanded, in 2023.

“The month of December, which is Christmas, offers mainly temporary opportunities, but we believe that, due to the development of Campo Grande, these vacancies will remain. There are several opportunities in industry, commerce, civil construction, agribusiness, in short”.

He explains that, daily, between 500 and 1,000 vacancies will be offered to Campo Grande residents. By early morning, however, only 70 chips had been distributed.

“We also have training courses and we want to appeal to people from Campo Grande to come to Funsat, to take advantage of opportunities in Campo Grande, which is in full development”.

Unemployed for a year, João Victor, 21, is looking for job opportunities in any field. “What I want is to work and if an opportunity arises in a supermarket, especially, I’m up for it. I have that preference.”

A resident of Bairro Oliveira, he says he’s up for a temporary job, but wants a permanent job to keep his job longer.

Friends Eliene Costa, 36, and Lenilde Pereira, 40, have been out of the formal job market for five years, living on temporary jobs and odd jobs. Today, they are looking for an opportunity as a production assistant, with a formal contract. The two expect to leave Feirão as employees. Eliene says that she is very optimistic and is betting on the Feirão to sign her portfolio again.

Deputy director João Henrique Bezerra points out that the expectation is that everyone who goes to the location will leave employed at the end of the year. “To have a more pleasant end to the year and start 2023 with a job. Come to Funsat in person, vacancies are open and, soon, we will have more training offered to candidates”.

Companies will be present until 2 pm. Candidates will deal directly with employers if they arrive at this time.
