Just like in the spring, the Norwegian Pro-Continental Team Uno-X was very active during the first stage of the Baloise Belgium Tour. As is known, the team consists entirely of Scandinavian riders. The payroll includes twenty-one Norwegians and eight Danes, the two countries in which the fuel supplier is active. Remarkable: for the upcoming Norwegian championship (June 26), Uno-X will leave part of its selection at home.

It sets up ‘only’ fifteen riders of its own accord, in the name of fair play. Starting with all twenty-two riders would give them too much tactical advantage. “Last year we only had fifteen riders lined up,” says manager Jens Haugland.

In Belgium there is no restriction for Lotto-Soudal (17 Belgians) or Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise (21 Belgians). All Belgian professionals are legally obliged to participate in the Belgian Championship. (jpdv)
