Volcanoes intensified in the Northern Kuriles

On the Kuril island of Paramushir on Friday, two volcanoes became active at once.

Chikurachki Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes of the Kuril Islands. Its height is 1816 meters. It is located on the northern tip of the Karpinsky Ridge, 60 kilometers south of Severo-Kurilsk. The most powerful eruptions of the giant were noted in 1853 and 1986. The last time combined-cycle emissions with ash were recorded in the summer of 2016.

Ebeko volcano (height 1156 meters) is located seven kilometers from Severo-Kurilsk. It belongs to the ancient damped volcanoes. The last time the giant erupted in 2012, then there was a period of calm, which lasted until October 2016.
