The mayor Walter Vuoto toured the construction of the new building of the Monitoring Center of the area. Today we commemorate the 30º anniversary of the creation of Municipal Civil Defense and the commemoration of National Civil Defense Day.

Mayor Vuoto was accompanied by the Secretary of Government, Yesica Garay; by the coordinator of Civil Defense, Christian Elias; by the Undersecretary of Urban Security, Ariel Perez; and by the Undersecretary of Public Works, Pablo Castro.

Vuoto, spoke with the workers in the area about the work they carry out on a daily basis, expressed his thanks for the work they do and conveyed the recognition of the community.

Garay stated that “we accompanied Mayor Vuoto along with employees from the area and officials on the tour of this work that will be essential for the daily work carried out in this sector so important to the community”. Along these lines, he remarked that the members of the Civil Defense “do a job the 24 hours of the day 365 days of the year, they have been carrying out this function for 30 years in the city and are recognized for their performance”, and highlighted that “when one says Civil Defense, they know that they can communicate to the 103that their workers are the first to arrive, that there will be a radio operator on the other side assistingand that they will provide containment and assistance ”.

To this he added that “the work of monitoring of the city for us is essential for what safety and prevention are”, and also “different from the actions that we carry out from the Executive as the Operative Winter or the rescues as an integral part of the Relief Commission have to do with that work”.

Meanwhile, the coordinator of Civil Defense, Christian Eliasexplained that the mayor Vuoto “supervised the progress of the work on the new urban monitoring building, which is very advanced” and described that the facilities will mean “a leap technological very important for what urban security is”, in addition to being “a recognition of the hard work carried out by the municipal Civil Defense comrades, who will have the best in terms of building infrastructure.”

“We estimate that in March or April we would be inaugurating the building, and by that time we hope to have everything oiled with the new monitoring equipment for what will be the Winter Operation 2023″, he added.

Finally, the official indicated that “with the mayor we made a balance of the work that has been carried out in the area throughout the year and what we project for the future.” In turn, the municipal Civil Defense director, Daniel Vázquez, said that “on this special day for us, the mayor visited us to evaluate the work” and said that “we really want to have the new monitoring center”, which “will be a fundamental tool for the city”. In this regard, he explained that “the place will have new technologies and will allow us to carry out joint work with all areas of the Municipality and the rest of the emergency services.” And he added: “We are very happy with this initiative, the work began recently and we hope to have the new facilities next year.”

Finally, the director of Civil Defense considered that “it will be a fundamental space for assistance to the community” because “we are going to have new technology and equipment, and we are going to have a training and a situation roomwhich will allow us to work in a comfortable place with the rest of the institutions when necessary”.
