A corn snake caused quite a stir in Munich on Friday. The fire brigade could intervene.

A snake apparently wanted to soak up some sun in the garden of a family home – which the residents were not very enthusiastic about. The fire brigade was able to help for the time being.

The non-toxic constrictor snake, which is harmless to humans, lay on a pile of wood in the sun on Friday, the fire brigade announced on Saturday.

“They could not identify the snake as a native species and therefore called the fire department,” the emergency services said in a statement.

They photographed the animal and sent the photo to a colleague who, according to the fire department, is familiar with the reptiles.
