A 38-year-old dentist from Wuppertal was given a suspended sentence for fraud in the billing of dental laboratory services.
Wuppertal – A Wuppertal dentist (38) has been sentenced to one year and ten months in prison for billing fraud.
According to the conviction of the Wuppertal district court, the 38-year-old cheated massively in his favor when billing dental laboratory services. The court found that he acted consciously and with the intention of enriching himself.
The dentist has to pay an additional 24,000 euros to a charitable organization within eight months. The billed costs are said to have been significantly higher than those actually incurred.
According to the indictment, he had billed 331,000 euros too much in the settlement of 575 cases totaling 1.1 million euros.

The defender had unsuccessfully denied the allegation of fraud. It is a complicated billing problem, at most a booking error.
According to his defense attorney, the dentist had no intention of illegally enriching himself. He has already repaid the sum of 331,000 euros.
