The “human cost” of the battle for Severodonetsk, a strategic city in eastern Ukraine that the Russians have so far failed to fully take, is “scary”, the Ukrainian president said on Monday Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The human cost of this battle for us is very high. It’s just terrifying.” said Zelensky in his daily address to Ukrainians broadcast on Telegram.

“The Battle of Donbas will surely go down in military history as one of the most violent in Europe”said the Ukrainian president.
“Up to a hundred Ukrainian soldiers” they die and500 are injured every day” in the fighting with the Russian military, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Thursday.
Zelensky declared on June 1 that the army was losing “between 60 and 100 soldiers” a day. “We are facing absolute evil,” he said Monday night.
This Monday the governor of the Lugansk region, Sergei Gaidai, stated that “between 70 and 80% of the city” was occupied by the Russians, adding that the three bridges that connect Severodonetsk with the neighboring city of Lysychansk “were destroyed”.
