The first batch with the children’s version of Comirnaty, Pfizer’s vaccine against covid-19, arrived this Friday (14) in Mato Grosso do Sul already with the forecast for the next one. New shipments must be delivered on the 20th and 27th of January.

After disembarking at Campo Grande International Airport, the two boxes were taken to the headquarters of Ceve (State Coordination of Epidemiological Surveillance), in Parque dos Poderes.

The conference and distribution proceeds through the night. Servers from city halls in the interior await delivery early. The initial forecast was that the shipment would arrive at 7:35 am, but a logistics problem at the Ministry of Health delayed the shipment.

“Our estimated population is 301,000 children. But we depend on the ministry to send us more doses,” said Assistant Secretary of State for Health, Christinne Maymone.

The application of the second dose should take place in two months. “We will follow the technical note of the Ministry of Health, which recommends eight weeks”, stressed the assistant secretary.

Some municipalities in the interior should start the new day of the campaign from 7 am this Saturday (15). In Campo Grande, children begin to be immunized at 8:30 am.
