The Brazilian international Neymar, striker of the Paris Saint-Germain, will be “operated in the next few days” on his right ankle, so he should not play this season.
The French club estimates a break of “three to four months” until the “canarinho” is able to compete again, after the injury suffered, on February 19, in a championship game, against Lille.
According to the Parisians’ medical team, Neymar, who will undergo surgery in Doha, “has had several episodes of instability in his right ankle in recent years”.
Faced with this evidence, the clinical managers “recommended a ligament repair operation in order to avoid an injury with a high risk of recurrence”.
Given this scenario, the 31-year-old striker, a colleague of Danilo Pereira, Vitinha, Renato Sanches and Nuno Mendes, should only return to competition in the 2023/24 season.
