Norway notifies the Russian Defense Ministry's Northern Fleet of Cold Response 2022 exercise - Rossiyskaya Gazeta

On Thursday, January 13, the press service of the Russian Northern Fleet announced that the Operational Command of the Norwegian Armed Forces had notified the Northern Fleet leadership that the multinational exercise Cold Response 2022 was being held.

“The commander of the Operational Command of the Norwegian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ingve Odlo, the Commander of the Northern Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, presented the preliminary plans for the upcoming exercise of the armed forces of the Kingdom of Norway and a number of other countries participating in the North Atlantic Alliance,” -service. “Lieutenant General Yngve Odlo noted that the armed forces of the Kingdom of Norway strictly adhere to the Vienna Document on Confidence and Security Building Measures, adopted at the OSCE Forum in 2011, and advocate the transparency of major military exercises.”

Admiral Alexander Moiseev thanked the military leader for the information provided and wished his Norwegian colleagues a safe conduct of their military maneuvers.

According to widely spread Oslo data, the multinational exercise Cold Response 2022 will take place in March – April this year. It will take place in several stages. Selected stages will be played in the Norwegian Sea, as well as in northern and central Norway.

It is reported that in addition to the units and subdivisions of the national armed forces of Norway, the military contingents of 28 NATO member states and partner countries of the bloc with a total number of about 40 thousand people will be involved.
