The son of the British Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Andrew voluntarily resigned from his military titles and duties as a member of the royal family. And he did so, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace, “with the consent and approval of the Queen.”

The title of nobility of the Duke of York for Andrew remained, but the title of “Royal Highness” he will no longer be able to use. As for the performance of various kinds of duties related to the patronage of the royal family of the British army and some areas of public life in the British Commonwealth. Andrew already removed himself from them back in 2019, when the world first started talking about his involvement in the dark affairs of the American billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew is suspected of sexually assaulting Virginia Giuffre, who claims that Epstein forced her, while a minor, to have sexual intercourse with the prince at least three times.

Giuffre’s lawsuit is being considered in a US court, which rejected all the arguments of the defense of the now former prince, filed earlier.

The Duke of York never tried to distance himself from Epstein, who committed suicide in a cell in a New York prison. Andrew always claimed that they were friends, and categorically denied his involvement in the activities of the financier, who, according to investigators, created a criminal network into which he involved underage girls for the purpose of their sexual exploitation.

In the possessions, on board the yachts and personal planes of Epstein, at various times, were seen: American presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, Saudi Prince Muhammad beat Salman, Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey and many others.

In the modern history of the British monarchy, Andrew’s resignation from his duties as a member of the royal family occurs – not the first precedent of this kind. Several years ago, Andrew’s nephew, Prince Harry, also voluntarily renounced his duties and royal privileges. The latter include the receipt of significant sums from the treasury, the use of the property of the royal family, as well as legal protection.

Thus, Andrew will now have to look for himself not only a place to live and lawyers for his defense, but also money in order to pay for all this.
