But the concern was unfounded: there were no scandals or big surprises among the winners, apart from a few cheeky (yet tame) jokes by moderator Jimmy Kimmel, the award ceremony seemed very good, very classic, very reserved. Even with the acceptance speeches, all winners, without exception, kept to the 45-second time limit.
And everyone was very fond of each other: in the run-up to the event, on the beige (and very dirty) carpet, there was a lot of hugging, a lot of hugging and a laid-back attitude. The motto of the evening: solidarity, charity and loyalty – which was also reflected in the blue ribbons worn by many stars.
The winner of the evening was clearly the sci-fi multisum film “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, which was able to take home a total of 7 awards from 11 nominations, including for “Best Film”, “Best Director”, “Best Actress”. (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan). You can find an overview of all the winners here.
