Peruvian Ruidíaz sends Seattle to the final of the Leagues Cup

SEATTLE (AP) – Raúl Ruidíaz scored in the discounts and the Seattle Sounders defeated Santos de Torreón 1-0 on Tuesday, to become the first finalist of the Leagues Cup in its 2021 edition.

In a counterattack play, the Peruvian striker scored the only goal of the match in the 93rd minute to give the MLS team victory.

The Sounders’ rival will be another Mexican team. León and Pumas collide this Wednesday night.

In a game that was very balanced, the local team had the best approaches in the first half, two in Ruidíaz’s boots.

In addition, the visiting team was slightly better and had the clearest arrival of the match at 64, with a free kick that Chilean Diego Valdés crashed into the post.

When it seemed that the match would go to penalties, Ruidíaz received a 30-meter pass through the center of the field, surpassed the mark of Emilio Orrantia and entered the area to take a shot that was rejected by goalkeeper Gibrán Lajud.

The rebound was the way for the Peruvian to push her to the bottom of the nets.
