The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) defended Robinho’s citation in the homologation process of the Italian Justice that sentenced the former football player to 9 years in prison for the crime of collective rape. The information was released on Monday (27).
According to the PGR, the decision came from the deputy attorney general Carlos Frederico Santos and was sent to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), at the request of the minister reporting the case at the court, Maria Thereza de Assis.
The citation is the first phase of approval, where the conviction abroad can become valid in Brazil and the sentence can be served in the country.
In the statement made by the deputy attorney general, he assesses that “if there are no restrictions on the transfer of the execution of the sentence imposed on Brazilians born abroad, the defendant must be summoned at the addresses indicated to present a defense”.
