Finnish brand Polar has announced a new smart watch Polar Grit X Prowhich are designed for extreme conditions. The model with a steel body boasts water resistance up to 100 meters below the surface, the watch can work in the range of ambient temperatures from -20 to + 50 ° C, you just have to take into account that temperatures below minus ten can have a negative effect on performance and battery. In connection with the increased durability, it is probably no surprise that the Polar watch meets the increased durability of the MIL-STD810G.
The 1.2-inch circular Always On display with a resolution of 240 × 240 pixels covers scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which is even more durable than commonly used Gorilla Glass DX and DX + glasses. The integrated 346mAh battery lasts up to a week on a single charge, with continuous heart rate measurement. In the case of a training mode with active GPS, the endurance of the watch is set at 40 hours. As part of the navigation, the watch records not only the route, but also the height profiles for ascending and descending or the angles of inclination. You will then find out your current altitude on a separate screen, display a compass, sunrise and sunset time, current weather or your last known coordinates.
Introducing the Polar Grit X Pro watch:
The watch counts your steps, and also has special functions for mountain hiking, runners, cyclists or swimmers. An important addition is sleep monitoring, breathing exercises or performance tests. However, you will already need an additional Polar chest strap for regeneration tests. Although the manufacturer does not directly explicitly mention the Wear OS designation, it still seems that the watch is actually running an older version of Wear OS from Google.
You can read notifications or receive calls on your wrist, connect your watch to iOS and Android via Bluetooth, alternatively you can use the included USB cable to charge and synchronize data. The basic version, available in three color variants, costs CZK 13,499, the Polar Grit X Pro Titan costs CZK 15,990. In addition to the titanium body, you can look forward to the two included straps (perforated leather and FKM) in the basic box. The watch is also aimed at Czech users, so you can count on their environment being fully localized into Czech.
