The agent in question is Serge B. in his forties, from Colfontaine, Hainaut. He is chief inspector at the Brussels South police zone (Anderlecht, Sint-Gillis, Forest) and has held a number of managerial positions there over the years. A relative of the man is a member of the motorcycle gang, and Serge B. gave the man police information about all kinds of matters concerning the Hell’s Angels. The case came to light when a number of members of the motorcycle gang were placed under wiretapping as part of another judicial investigation – an investigation by the federal prosecutor’s office.

Serge B. has been arrested by the investigating judge in Bergen for forgery, gang formation, abuse of police databases and violation of professional secrecy. A colleague of his, also a police officer in the south zone, was also arrested and interrogated for a while. The latter spoke better Dutch than Serge B. and is said to have translated a number of documents into French, after which Serge passed on the translated texts to the motorcycle gang.
