A test system for the detection of the Nipah virus, previously detected in India, has already been developed in Russia. Such a statement on Wednesday, August 15, was made by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
“Colleagues very quickly made a test system, that is, today we can distinguish the Nipah virus if it is detected or if a patient with such symptoms is identified,” said the head of Rospotrebnadzor during a meeting with doctors from Rostov State Medical University.
Recall, as the website kp.ru wrote earlier, an outbreak of the deadly Nipah virus was registered in India, and a 12-year-old boy died as a result of the disease. The disease was identified in the southern state of Kerala. Several other people are now experiencing its symptoms. Rospotrebnadzor previously reported that the risk of an outbreak of this infection in Russia is almost absent, in our country the disease has not yet been registered.
