Popova attributed COVID-19 patients to influenza risk group - Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The risk group for influenza this year may be citizens who have recovered coronavirus… This was stated by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, reports RIA Novosti.

“In the country as a whole, the number of citizens with immunity to influenza has decreased, and those who have recovered from the coronavirus are a new risk group for this disease,” she said.

Popova recalled that you can also protect yourself from the flu with the help of vaccinations. Vaccination has already begun, it is free of charge for everyone.

“I want to emphasize that being vaccinated against influenza during the coronavirus pandemic is also very important, both diseases cause serious complications, and if infected at the same time, they can lead to serious complications and death,” she said.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor recalled that last year, Russians practically did not get sick with the flu, because 60% of the country’s population was vaccinated from it, that is, a collective immunity to this virus was formed.
