Portuguese star Nani continues career at Venice

The Portuguese Nani has signed a contract for a season and a half with Serie A club Venezia on Friday. The 35-year-old winger comes over from Orlando City on a free transfer.

Nani has been active in the Major League of Soccer for the past three seasons, scoring 31 goals and 18 assists in 88 games. Before that, he was active in Europe for top clubs such as Sporting Lisbon (2005-2007, 2014-2015 and 2018-2019), Manchester United (2007-2014), Fenerbahçe (2015-2016), Valencia (2016-2017) and Lazio Roma ( 2017-2018).

His palmares includes four Premier League titles (2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013), the Champions League (2008), the World Cup for clubs (2008) and the European Football Championship (2016).

At Venezia, Nani becomes a teammate of our compatriot Daan Heymans. The Belgian Moroccan Sofian Kiyine, Thomas Henry (ex-OH Leuven) and David Okereke (ex-Club Brugge) are also under contract. Venezia, which was promoted last season, is currently seventeenth just above the relegation zone in the Serie A.
