Priest from Salvador goes viral on the web after singing ‘Baianidade Nagô’ at mass

The climate in Bahia is really different. A video of a priest singing the song ‘Baianidade Nagô’, by Banda Mel, has gone viral on the internet in recent days. The unusual situation happened at the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, in Pelourinho, in Salvador.

In the video, the religious leader appears leading a chorus of believers: “I wanted this costume to be eternal; Who knows, maybe one day peace will win the war; And to live will only be to celebrate”.

On social networks, many internet users were surprised by the priest’s irreverence. “Nobody explains Bahia, nobody explains Salvador”, said one. “This is religious syncretism. Wonders of Bahia!”, highlighted another.
