The Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, continues this Friday the second day of the government visit to the province of Granma with a tour of the province’s Marble Complex, the largest and most modern industry of its kind in the country.

On the tour of this industry, which in 2021 produced more than 125,000 square meters of elaborated marble, Marrero Cruz was accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister and head of economy and planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, and of construction, René Mesa Villafaña.

According to the profile of the Presidency on Twitter, the Head of Government also learned about the production process at the Gerardo Zamora Álvarez hatchery, in the municipality of Jiguaní, a vital facility for the development of poultry farming.

Founded in the 1960s by the Commander in Chief, this facility should produce more than one million chicks by 2022, intended for breeding and promotion by state and private producers, stated in the publication on the social network .

Similarly, they reported that the Prime Minister also visited the crafts and special pieces production unit where, among other assortments, primary pieces not suitable for their initial destination are used, making items of high popular demand such as countertops, balusters and multipurpose bases.

On the other hand, during a visit to the works of the new oxygen plant in the eastern region, which should be inaugurated in mid-2023, the Head of Government indicated not to stop the earthmoving work for a minute.

This new plant will reduce the costs of transporting oxygen from Havana (where Oxicuba SA’s main plant is located) to the eastern provinces and will allow the necessary outages and maintenance to be carried out at the facility in the capital without affecting supply.

The modern facility is being built on the outskirts of the municipality of Bayamo, on the side of the Central Highway towards Santiago de Cuba, or vice versa, and once it is put into operation, it will have a production capacity of about 30 tons of oxygen per day.

Marrero Cruz leads the Government visit to the province of Granma since Thursday, together with the Vice President of the Republic, Salvador Valdes Mesa and where the six vice prime ministers, more than a dozen ministers and other authorities of the country also participate.
