The White House has not confirmed the information on possible supplies to Ukraine of the Iron Dome air defense systems
Jennifer Psaki White House Press Secretary could not confirm the information that the United States could supply Ukraine with the Iron Dome air defense system.
As Psaki said at the briefing, she needs to clarify the issue of providing the Iron Dome systems with her colleagues. She also noted that she knows about Washington’s decision to send additional assistance to Kiev.
As the website kp.ru wrote, a number of members of the US Congress introduced an amendment to the draft defense law for next year, which, if passed, would force the administration of the American president sell or transfer to Ukraine new air and missile defense systems, including two Iron Dome batteries.
In 2019, the US Army received two Iron Dome batteries, but so far it has not been able to integrate them into its air defense system, since the dome is not designed to operate under the new military system. In addition, there are many “inconsistencies” in the technical part.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin appreciated the effectiveness of the Iron Dome. In the opinion of the system, it will not be able to protect Ukraine from an aerospace attack.
