Public Power. The TAP film, the Azores anticyclone and the same old Marcelo | Public Podcasts

One of these days, our podcast with exclusively female voices comes out on Women’s Day and we do an episode on the subject, but it was still this year. Still, we have a lot to talk about.

This week, the Government announced the results of the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) in the case of Alexandra Reis, who left TAP with compensation of 500 thousand euros. There are three pieces of information to record: the IGF declared the compensation null and void; the Government decided to remove the current chairman of the board of directors of TAP and the chairman of the company and a replacement has already been chosen: Luís Rodrigues, who comes from SATA.

Another subject of the week is the crisis in the Government of the Azores. I recall here that the PS won the elections, but as it was in the minority and did not get along with any other party, it was possible for the PSD to form a right-wing contraption and retain one more deputy… and an absolute majority. CDS and PPM joined the Government and IL and Chega provided parliamentary support. Only, now, José Bolieiro, leader of the Regional Government, yesterday rejected presenting a motion of confidence. The PS also does not intend, for the time being, to present a motion of censure. Are we going to have case-by-case management, law by law, from now on, as happened in the second Costa Government – and did it go wrong?
