Today, November 26, Vladimir Putin conducts trilateral talks with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the future Nagorno-Karabakh.
In the Kremlin reported that a personal meeting of our president with the Azerbaijani leader has just ended Ilham Aliyev… There are two more conversations ahead today: a trilateral one with Aliyev and Nikola Pashinyan, and then only with the head of Armenia Pashinyan.
– Unfortunately, there are problems, there are incidents. Unfortunately, there are still casualties. But for this we have gathered to see what has been done and what needs to be done by everyone. So that not only nothing of the kind arises, but vice versa, conditions are created to calm the situation and develop the situation in the region, which would allow people to live in peace and countries to develop, – Putin said at a meeting with Aliyev.
Russia acts as a mediator in negotiations to prevent a new round of violence. The meeting is being held on the initiative of Putin himself and is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the ceasefire in Karabakh.
The leaders of the countries are discussing the implementation of the agreements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021. The Kremlin said that special attention is paid to the restoration of trade, economy and transport links.
Unfortunately, it is still not calm on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. On November 16, 2021, clashes with the Azerbaijani military began in the Syunik region of Armenia. Several people died.
