Time closed in Salvador. This Monday (20) of Carnival, the penultimate day of the festival in the city, the rain arrived in the capital of Bahia with strong winds.
According to a bulletin from the Civil Defense of Salvador (Codesal), showers and thunderstorms were recorded in some places in the city. The forecast for this Monday and Tuesday is for partly cloudy skies with light rain, sometimes moderate, at any time of the day.
Still according to the agency’s bulletin, the presence of a High Level Cyclonic Vortex (VCAN) favors the occurrence of rains in the coming days in the city. There are risks of flooding and landslides both on Monday and Tuesday (21), the last official day of the festival. The temperature varies between 30°C and 22°C, with a chance of rain between 70% and 60%.
In addition, Codesal recorded winds at 37.8km/h on the Dodô circuit (Barra/Ondina). At the Osmar Circuit (Cmapo Grande), the winds are at a speed of 19.8 km/h. The recommendation of the Maritime Rescue Coordination (Salvamar) is for Bahians and tourists to avoid bathing in the sea.
