Santiago expects 50 projects for 88 thousand 727 million pesos
The province is waiting for promised works.

Santiago. The update of the Strategic Plan to 2030, promoted by the Council for Strategic Development of Santiago seeks to promote metropolitan and provincial planning, the green base of the Central and Northern mountain ranges, reduce mountain livestock and protect water.
In addition, the updated plan will go hand in hand with the projects of the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (Coraasan), which should reduce water losses by more than 50%. It will also make it possible to achieve comprehensive sanitation of more than 90% of the wastewater.

Ricardo Fondeur, president of the council, explained that one of the innovations is that more opportunities will be given to the different municipalities that make up the province as well as to the municipal districts.

In total, it includes 50 projects to be financed over 10 years for a public investment amount of RD $ 88 thousand 727 million pesos.

The update incorporates the 10 road connectivity and access projects that are promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and the Senate Office of Santiago with the endorsement of the City Council, which is the governing body of urban mobility in Santiago.

The Strategic Council favors road expansion and tree-planting interventions on the main avenues, and the construction of the Navarrete bypass to favor the port of Manzanillo.

It also includes a strategic alliance with the Ministry of Public Health to support it in the formulation of the Ten-Year Health Plan for Santiago and the country. It proposes that emphasis be placed on primary care that prevents both threatening infectious diseases and chronic non-communicable diseases, such as high blood pressure, heart attacks, obesity, diabetes and cancer.
