12 deaths and 3,444 new cases in one week in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health announced the new cases of covid-19 disease for the week April 29 – May 5.

Specifically, another 12 deaths and 3,444 new cases were announced in Cyprus.

– 12 deaths were announced

– Relate to:

– Woman, 95 years old, who passed away on 04/12/2020

– Woman, 85 years old, who passed away on 08/04/2021

– A man, aged 63, who passed away on 05/09/2021

– Woman, aged 80, who passed away on 28/03/2022

– Woman, 86 years old, who passed away on 11/04/2022

– A man, aged 95, who passed away on 13/04/2022

– Woman, 84 years old, who passed away on 15/04/2022

– A man, aged 89, who passed away on 29/04/2022

– A man, aged 84, who passed away on 30/04/2022

– A man, aged 89, who passed away on 30/04/2022

– Woman, aged 91, who passed away on 30/04/2022

– Woman, 82 years old, who passed away on 30/04/2022

Total number of final causes of COVID-19 disease: 1,027.

– 60 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

– 16 in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of ventilator / 6 intubated, MAF: 9)

– Percentage of patients without a history of vaccination: 43.34%

– 12 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

– A total of 354,720 diagnostic tests were performed

– 3,444 new cases were identified (total of 483,664 cases).

– Position rate in all exams 0.97%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

– 12,049 molecular tests were performed

– There were 417 positive incidents

– Positiveness rate 3.46%

Total number of Rapid Test Antigens:

– 342,671 rapid antigen detection tests were performed

– There were 3,027 positive incidents

– Positiveness rate 0.88%

Tracking:

– 190 molecular tests were performed and 10 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.26%)

Private initiative:

– 5,090 molecular tests were performed, 297 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.83%)

– 153,975 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 1,925 positive cases were detected (1.25% positivity rate)

188,696 rapid antigen detection tests were performed through the programs of the Ministry of Health. 1,102 positive cases were identified.

– Sampling points: 132,789 rapid detection tests identified 1,018 positive cases (positivity rate 0.77%)

Education

– Primary Education: 24,902 rapid antigen detection tests, 24 positive cases were detected (0.1% positivity rate)

– Secondary Education: 18,249 rapid detection tests identified 20 positive cases (positivity rate 0.11%)

– Test-to-Stay: 409 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 2 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.49%)

– Special Schools: 1,029 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and no positive cases were detected (0% positivity rate)

But

– Nursing homes: 5,843 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 35 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.6%)

Closed structures: 5,450 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 3 new cases were identified (0.06% positivity rate).

– National Guard: 25 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and no new cases were detected (0% positivity rate).
