This Friday, Square Enix, responsible for the game, announced the sequel, the second chapter of the ‘remake’, which will arrive with the title of Rebirth, on PS5. In a statement after the announcement posted on Twitter, the game’s creative director, Tetsuya Nomura, has assured that Rebirth has been designed so that players can enjoy it “whether they know the original game or not.” And that the scenes players will encounter will give them “a refreshing new experience.”

The title of Rebirth is not accidental, as Nomura has pointed out, nor is it that the first chapter was called Remake. Likewise, he has advanced that the developments of the third installment have already begun and that, over time, he hopes to be able to reveal what it will be called and “where this journey will ultimately lead.”

For his part, the director of the game, Naoki Hamaguchi, has confirmed that this ‘remake’ of the 1997 title will have three parts, and that Rebirth “is much more than an episode in the series.” And the producer, Yoshinori Kitase, has asked the players for a little patience. “Three years can be a long time for all the fans who are looking forward to the next game, but we want to offer the best possible experience and assure everyone that development is moving at an astonishingly fast pace for a large-scale HD game. ”.

The announcement of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been made in the broadcast that Square Enix has celebrated in the early hours of this Friday on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy VII. In it, the company has shared that it is currently working on four projects linked to this title.

According to Nomura, each of these four titles will play a different role, but all of them will be connected to both the world and the characters of Final Fantasy VII.

The other titles are Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, the game for iOs and Android, which will have a closed beta this year; The First Soldier, in whose third season the developer is already working; and Crisis Core – Reunion, coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam this winter. Furthermore, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to PC on Steam on June 17, 2022 with support for the Steam Deck console.
