Police arrested three people for the purpose of investigating a drug possession case with the aim of supplying them to other persons, and for money laundering.
Specifically, during a coordinated operation of the Anti-Drug Service – YKAN, in the province of Nicosia, members of the Service stopped a car driven by a 21-year-old at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon, with two other young people, aged 21 and 20, as co-drivers and passengers.
A search of the 21-year-old driver turned up a quantity of white powder believed to be cocaine, weighing 44 grams, a quantity of hemp weighing 65 grams, a quantity of hemp resin weighing 23 grams, a crystal substance of methamphetamine, a gram of methamphetamine, , and the amount of 5,910 euros.
At the same time, YKAN members found in the possession of the 21-year-old co-driver, a quantity of cannabis weighing 24 grams, a quantity of crystalline substance methamphetamine, weighing 3 grams, and a quantity of white powder, believed to be cocaine, weighing about 2.5 grams, and the sum of 280 euros.
The two 21-year-olds were arrested for spontaneous offenses by the members of YKAN and then they were arrested with court warrants, while the 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also arrested with a court warrant. The three were taken into custody for police purposes.
