Honor has been gaining ground on the Czech market in recent years, which was due to the difficult situation with Huawei. But since he became independent, he has been looking for a way back among the best smartphones, and the new Honor Magic4 Pro is a clear example of this.

The Honor Magic 4 Pro impresses with its large round camera.

The phone will impress you at first sight with its design. It has a mirror-shiny body, a distinctive camera and round shapes for the best possible holding in the hand. Its large LTPO OLED display here has such a markedly curved cover glass that it extends far into the sides of the phone, which is very effective. High resolution and 120Hz refresh rate are a matter of course. The display even got a separate chipset for fast image conversion to HDR or higher frame rate.

The performance here is also top notch. It is taken care of by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor supplemented with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The endurance is taken care of by a 4600mAh battery with support for up to 100-watt charging, and with this high performance the phone can be charged even wirelessly, you just have to buy a special charger.

The eye of the muse

But now to the main one, which is clearly the camera. His circular module is so huge here that Honor began to call it the “eye of the muse”. In its very center is a large periscope telephoto lens with 64 Mpx resolution and 3.5 × optical zoom and stabilization. Along the perimeter of the module, we find the main 50Mpx camera at the top left, which is complemented by an ultra-wide camera with the same resolution on the right.

The sample photos show that the camera does well during the day, but especially at night.

At the bottom, look for an advanced ToF depth-of-field camera and a slightly atypical flicker sensor that can detect a blinking subject in the scene and select the appropriate camera settings. A 12Mpx camera and a depth of field sensor are used for the selfie in the wide view of the display on the front.

Magic UI 6 and camera applications

Anyone hesitating about the software doesn’t have to worry. There is a pre-installed traditional Android 12 with the Magic UI 6 extension, and of course there is also support for services from Google. Overall, the Honor Magic4 Pro is a top phone with virtually no compromises. Just as its processing is premium, but its price tag is also 28 thousand crowns.
