At least 27 people have been killed in a fire that broke out in an office building on the outskirts of New Delhi, rescue services said.
“The fire is now out. “There are a total of 27 dead. The search operation is ongoing,” said a firefighter at the French Agency.
Another 40 people suffered burns and are being treated. According to local media, citing police 60-70 people were rescued.
The fire started in a four-storey building in the western suburbs of the Indian capital, late in the afternoon. According to police authorities, the building housed company offices.
Fires are common in India because safety regulations are often not followed.
