Intervention of the Supreme Court for the leak of confidential documents

The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Isidoros Dogiakos, will personally conduct a preliminary criminal examination, not for the substance of the complaints for surveillance of the president of KINAL-PaSoK, Nikos Androulakis, but for the leakage of the information, contained in top secret state documents concerning, such as is pointed out by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court, “the process of declassification of communications on issues related to the national security of the country”.

The investigation will be carried out by the Prosecutor of the supreme court himself, due to the importance of the case, which touches, as explained by top prosecutorial sources, on national security issues and how data on the surveillance of specific persons was leaked.

It is noted that in addition to Nikos Androulakis, complaints about surveillance have been submitted by the journalist Thanasis Koukakis, which will also be investigated for the leakage of information regarding this particular case, while investigations into the substance of the surveillance are already being carried out by the Athens District Attorney’s Office.
