Kyiv city council awarded the former British prime minister the title of honorary citizen of Kyiv, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko announced in a post on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reports.
“The Kyiv council approved a decision to award the great friend of Ukraine Boris Johnson the title of honorary citizen of Kyiv. Boris has repeatedly visited the Ukrainian capital – both in peacetime and in the most dramatic period of our struggle against the Russian invader. Johnson has done, and I am sure will continue to do, everything possible to ensure that Great Britain and world leaders continue to provide much-needed assistance to Ukraine. We thank him for the support! We are waiting for him in Kyiv to award him this honorary title!” Klitschko wrote.
And the scientific council of the “Ivan Franco” National University of Lviv awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to the former British Prime Minister.
