The commemorative march for the 26 years since the murders of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomos, which is organized every year by the “Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative”, is underway.
Today, from the early afternoon, motorcyclists from all the provinces of the free Cyprus gathered and headed together towards the Deryneia roadblock for this year’s big event which started just before eight o’clock.
This year’s march is also connected with the centenary of the great disaster of 1922, which is why the march started from the “Memorial of Refugees of Asia Minor Hellenism”, for the centenary of the disaster.
According to the post of the Isaac-Solomos Memory Initiative, “From Asia Minor to Kyrenia and from Nicosia to Famagusta, memory prevails in the fight against oblivion. The big marches from all the cities of free Cyprus carry the message of dignity, the message of Tasos and Solomon. The Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative calls for an ongoing struggle for pride. Everything is conscious. Everyone at the Deryneia barricade.”
