The Commissioner for Equality greets on Father's World Day

Although less widespread, World Father’s Day is considered a complementary celebration to Mother’s Day, as the father and mother are firm pillars in the family, says Gender Equality Commissioner Iosifina Antoniou in a message today.

According to the announcement, the Commissioner welcomes the International Father’s Day, which is celebrated this year on June 19, which was created in the early 20th century to honor all the fathers of the world for their contribution to the family and society in general.

On this day, says Ms. Antoniou, all fathers are symbolically honored for the special relationship between father and child.

“Easy in theory, difficult in practice. Being a father is the most difficult role a man has to play once he has children. “Father and child signify a bond that consists of care, guidance, love, affection,” he added.

Concluding, the Commissioner states that “let us express our feelings to our fathers on Sunday and thank them for what they have done for us, starting with a” big thank you “for the gift of life they offered us”.
