Training of Police members to identify victims of serious disasters


A specialized training program for members of the Police, on the subject of identifying victims of serious disasters in cases where there is a large number of victims and victims of unknown identity and different nationalities, was carried out by the Forensic Investigation Service.

The training was conducted by the English trainer Mr. Howard Way, who was the UK national coordinator for the above topics and is considered one of the best experts in this subject, who has taught in many countries.

The training was attended by 22 members of the Cyprus Police and 4 members of the British Bases. The members of the Police, who attended the training, will also be the team for dealing with such incidents in any part of the Republic of Cyprus.

At the end of the program today, the participants were given certificates of participation by a representative of the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom in Cyprus, and by the Deputy Chief of Police, Mr. Dimitris Dimitriou.

The Deputy Chief of Police congratulated the members of the Police for their participation in the training program, while he did not fail to thank Mr. Howard Way for the implementation of the specialized training program.

For his part, Mr. Howard described the organization of the training program by the Criminological Investigation Service as perfect, while congratulating the members of the Police, who, as he mentioned, maintain a high level of education and professionalism.

The training took place between the dates 09-12 / 05/2022 in the lecture hall of the Traffic Education Park, near the Police Headquarters.
