Tuchel: "We're late but the owners have done a fantastic job"

Thomas Tuchel has admitted that Chelsea have fallen behind in terms of their summer signings, but made it clear that he has no complaints from the owners and that they are doing a fantastic job of helping the club.

Chelsea have lost players they chased, such as Rafinha, Kute and Ake, but on the other hand they have made important moves with the acquisition of Sterling, Koulibaly, Tsukumeka and Koukoreya, a fact recognized and appreciated by Thomas Tuchel.

The German coach even made sure to show his support to the owners of the blues, stressing that although there are some delays in terms of transfer support, Todd Boley and his colleagues are working hard for the good of the Londoners.

“It is obvious that we have been delayed. There is no one to blame for this since the sanctions that were imposed on us were the ones that forced us to lose key players,” the German coach of the Blues initially said in a press conference, before adding:

“However, both owners dealing with the transfer issues have done a fantastic job. I have nothing but admiration for Todd.

I don’t know when they sleep, I think they never sleep. We have an open line of communication with the owners and the transfers speak for themselves.”

As for how he sees the title battle this season, he underlined: “We know the quality of Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Usually one or two of these teams do a little better than everyone expects and stand out. That’s why the Premier League is so exciting.”
