“It is absolutely regrettable, shameful, that we see that there are brazen people who try to justify such a violation of rights with political arguments, with electoral or electoral claims, and who also intend to say that this is the prelude to 22”, said President Iván Duque from the Santander General School, where he presented a program of attention to children and adolescents, in Noticias Caracol.
Iván Duque added: “By God! Anyone who intends to do politics affecting the rights to work, life, childhood … the right to health … clearly is not aspiring to anything that is profitable, quite the opposite: it is fueling the destruction of the constitutional order.
President Duque referred to the following statements by Nelson Alarcón: “Here we have to strengthen ourselves, because this is long-term. This is with a view to reaching 2022 and going much further to defeat the Democratic Center, to defeat the extreme right and come to power in 2022 ”.
Faced with the union leader’s comments, various sectors of society reacted, such as the Green party, which described Alarcón’s attitude as “irresponsible” and stressed that Alarcón “is not part of that community,” reported the newscast.
For its part, Emilio Archila, senior counselor for stabilization, questioned what Alarcón said and invited to analyze the true intentions of the trade unionist who intends to extend the national strike.
Other members of Fecode felt identified with what Alarcón said, but they emphasized that these are personal statements of the leader, but not the feeling of the union organization: “It is a personal opinion,” said Carlos Rivas, a member of Fecode, who asked not divert attention from the national strike.
Students and young people who demonstrate in the streets of the cities of Colombia they assure that Nelson Alarcón “does not represent them”.
