Rita Lee was hospitalized early this Friday at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo. The hospital did not provide further information about the seriousness of his health condition, referring to a statement in which he informs that “out of respect for privacy and secrecy, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein does not provide or comment on medical or treatment information without patient authorization. or their family members”.
In a publication on the singer’s official account on the social network Instagram reads: “Like anyone who has gone through or is going through oncological treatment, hospitalizations for exams and evaluations may be necessary”. The text, also shared by the singer’s husband, Roberto de Carvalho asks for respect for privacy: “The family appreciates the affection, certain of the respect for privacy, as established from the beginning.”
The 75-year-old singer was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021, during routine examinations and the treatment adopted was a combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Less than a year later, in April 2022, the family announced that the cancer was in remission. Rita Lee has always maintained optimistic comments on her official Instagram page for her legion of fans and in July of last year she wrote: “The stop is tough, but you have to have courage”.
In early February, Roberto de Carvalho shared a photograph of the singer with short hair, as a result of the treatment. Rita Lee herself published an image of her hands, with colored nails, writing in a post being “in a revelry mood”, referring to Carnival.
