City Hall asks residents to open doors and windows of houses for greater efficiency of service
Used as an auxiliary tool in the elimination of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue, zika and chikungunya, the ultra-low volume spraying service – better known as Fumacê – will circulate through 20 neighborhoods of Campo Grande this Thursday (13).
The CCEV (Coordination of Control of Vector Endemic Diseases) vehicles from Sesau (Municipal Health Department) will be in the neighborhoods at 4 pm and 10 pm, following the established itinerary.
According to Sesau, the application of the insecticide aims to reach, mainly, the female mosquitoes that cause the diseases, but it is possible that other species of insects are affected and, therefore, the use of this method of application must occur judiciously.
Residents of the regions must leave the doors and windows open when the smoke passes, so the insecticide droplets enter the house, where the mosquito hides. It is worth mentioning that in case of strong winds or rain, the service may be postponed or cancelled.
