The Colombian National Team had a bad result against Ecuador, drawing 0-0. The national team needed to win against a direct rival in the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, because the three points would have allowed him to be third in the standings.
However, those led by Reinaldo Rueda did not have a good afternoon and also saw how the Ecuadorian goalkeeper, Alexander Domínguez frustrated the Colombian goal cry on a couple of occasions.
The tie made Colombia partially climb to fourth place in the standings, but is awaiting the result tonight between Brazil and Uruguay to see if it goes back down to fifth place where it has been for several days.
Another unfortunate fact for Colombia is that it did not take advantage of the fact that Bolivia beat Paraguay 4-0 and ended up playing in favor of the ‘tricolor’. To have beaten Ecuador would have represented a decisive step in the objective of qualifying directly for Qatar 2022, but that purpose continues to become more and more complicated.
Now Colombia will play again in November, when they visit Brazil and host Paraguay in Barranquilla.
