284g of cannabis in his backpack during a check in Hastière

On February 23, 2017, police officers from the Haute-Meuse area had their attention drawn to a vehicle with two people on board, parked in front of the Relax-Meuse area in Hastière. One of them had 284g of cannabis in his backpack. He had just gone to get supplies in Namur, at the Parc Marie-Louise.

This Wednesday morning, these two individuals and the ex-companion appeared before the Dinant criminal court for drug trafficking committed between November 2016 and February 2017. A traffic that recognizes the principal concerned who consumed, at that time, until at 15 joints per day. “My partner had come to live with me with her three children following a fire of which she was the victim. I smoked a lot and the financial situation was complicated”he said.

His “best friend” at the time, the one who was in the car at the time of his arrest, is also concerned. He admits having transported it to provide himself in exchange for 10€ for his fuel. However, he denies having received cannabis in return and having participated in this trafficking.

Statements that go against those of the first defendant and especially those of his ex-companion. “I’m not afraid to say it. He came home to consume and he had his business on his side. Me, I have already supplied two or three clients, when the gentleman was not there. But I was not managing anything.”

Given the age of the facts, the Namur public prosecutor’s office is not opposed to a suspension of the judgment for the defendant and to work sentences for the other two. Judgment on January 11.
