6H of Spa: first pole for Glickenhaus thanks to Olivier Pla!

Surprise during qualifying with the pole position signed by Olivier Pla’s Glickenhaus Hypercar in 2.02.771, just two seconds slower than last year. A first which pleases the American team.

With a single set of new tyres, the Frenchman was 228 thousandths ahead of his compatriot Mathieu Vaxivière on the Alpine A480 at the top of the championship.

The Toyota GR010s of ex-F1 drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Brendon Hartley, at 316 and 366 thousandths, will start from second place.

Unlike the Hypercars, which made only one attempt, some managed to pass just two sets of new tyres. This is what allowed Alessio Rovera to offer pole in LMP2 to the AF Corse team entered in Pro-Am. He blew the best time in the Oreca 07 WRT of Robin Frijns in extremis by 44 thousandths. Third place in LMP2 for United Autosports ahead of Prema and the second WRT. Charles Milesi on the Richard Mille shared with Sébastien Ogier and Lilou Wadoux finished 14th.

In GTE-Pro, pole went to Porsche as expected thanks to Gianmaria Bruni who lapped in 2m14.301s, 18 hundredths ahead of his team-mate Michael Christensen, but more than a second slower than in free practice… More question of being trapped by revealing too many cards before Le Mans like last year!

The Corvette in the hands of Nick Tandy set the third fastest time 305 thousandths ahead of the two Ferraris by more than 8 tenths.

In GTE-Am where the Bronze drivers had to secure the qualification, pole for the Aston Martin Vantage TF Sport of Ben Keating ahead of the Northwest AMR of Paul Dalla Lana.

The start of the 6 Hours of Spa will be given this Saturday at 1 p.m. in front of a new grandstand at Raidillon which promises to be very full…
