The debut of the U17 Women’s Red at the Delle Nazioni di Gradisca tournament will be this Wednesdaywhen at 12:30 p.m., the national teams take to the field of the Cervignano del Friuli stadium, in the city of the same name, to face Mexico, the only defined rival of the contest. The purpose is to continue with the preparation for the World Cup.

Alex Castro, national coach of the Sub 17, said he felt “very happy” for this contest in Italian lands. “We have prepared ourselves in a very responsible way and with a lot of dedication to face this type of tournament that for us are very relevant to see what parameter we are in. We have worked under a dynamic with the team, to equalize forces, and obviously we will try to play our game. So we have the illusion of competing and that it will be a great tournament for us”, he highlighted.

Mexico Women’s Sub 17 is runner-up in the world, since in the previous version of the World Cup (Uruguay 2018) they fell in the final against Spain. For Castro, playing against El Tri is “the best. There is nothing better than facing teams that have had a great process at the level of minor divisions or youth football”.

We are very excited to play a great game against a team that has a great game, good ball handling. They played in their last match the final against the United States, which was a very tight match, and it will be a good parameter for us. Obviously, we are very psyched up to compete and play a great game”, closed the coach.

On the other hand, the midfielder Tali Rovner, seconded Castro’s words and assured that “it will be a very difficult game. We have prepared a lot in recent weeks, so we have to trust in what we have been doing since before the South American and above all later, with all the learning we had in the championship”

For the crossed midfielder, playing the Gradisca tournament is a very special moment for the squad. “We know that It is a very nice experience that we have this week. We have prepared these months after the South American and we are very excited for these three games, which we know will be very useful for the next challenge, which is the World Cup,” he said.

On Friday 24 and Sunday 26, the Chilean women’s team will face Italy and India (in order and times to be defined)and the transmission of all the matches will be through the Facebook of the championship: Female Football Tournament.
