Antwerp gives 19-year-old first professional contract and picks away tastemaker from Second National

Two players signed a professional contract with Antwerp FC. The country’s oldest football club announced this on Wednesday. It concerns Adam Zaanan (19) and Visar Shala (22).

Zaanan was acquired from Union SG in January 2021. After a year and a half with the Great Old, he signs his first professional contract. It is a contract for three seasons. Zaanan is a right-footed midfielder and a basic pawn in the U21 of trainer Swerts.

Shala will come over from Olsa Brakel next season and signed a contract for one year. The attacking midfielder with a nose for goals made the most of this season in the Tweede Nationale. He scored in the final round against Merelbeke. In the next round, Brakel will face Lyra-Lierse. In the youth series, Shala played for Tubize, Club Brugge and Zulte Waregem.
