Are Americans getting rid of Manchester United? “Glazers prepare sale”

The Glazer family is preparing for a possible sale of Premier League club Manchester United, according to TV channel Sky News. This would put an end to a period of seventeen years in which the family has owned the club. The fans have been hoping for years that the American lenders will disappear from Old Trafford stadium.

According to Sky, the Glazer family will announce their intention to seek outside investors, potentially leading to a full takeover of the club that has been underperforming for years. The channel relies on sources that state that investment banks have been instructed to advise on a partial or full takeover. The club itself did not provide any further information.

The renewed rumors come on the day that it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving the club with immediate effect. The Portuguese star, no longer a basic player under trainer Erik ten Hag, previously criticized the Dutchman and the club’s policy in an interview. He called Manchester United a marketing club, something the fans have also thought for years.
